Half the restaurants in the Honduras mall food court are American chains

No wonder obesity is on the rise in Latin America.

Last stop in Nicaragua

After driving for 3 hours en route to Tegucigalpa, our driver stopped at a border town in Nicaragua for a snack. Very different from an American pit stop, this was part farm, part restaurant and part hotel. Slaughterhouse in the backyard and turkeys, geese and cows roamed around. Kitchen had a woodfired stove. Notice the charred cows legs/ feet. Nothing goes to waste.

Bodybuilding contest at Interplaza Hotel

Across the street from the Crown Plaza in Managua is the Interplaza hotel. We went there for the food court only to stumble upon a male bodybuilding contest in the food court. Look closley and you can see dozens of Nicaraguans enjoying their fried chicken on a Saturday Night while watching guys flex in their speedos.
